Rogue River Fishing plus Elk, Sixes, Chetco, & Illinois Rivers

Rogue River Fishing: The famous Rogue River is home to Spring and Fall Salmon, Winter and Summer Steelhead and Coho Salmon. Many well-known people have experienced a great love and respect for
Rogue River fishing. Famous author Zane Gray spent a significant amount of time fishing on the
Rogue River and wrote about this beautiful place.
The Rogue River is located in southwestern Oregon and flows 215 miles from Crater Lake to the Pacific Ocean. The 84 mile Congressionally designated "National Wild and Scenic" portion of the Rogue begins seven miles west of Grants Pass and ends 11 miles east of Gold Beach.
The Rogue was one of the original eight rivers included in the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968.

Ekl River Fishing: The Elk River gets a very strong run of Native Winter Steelhead along with fall Chinook Salmon. The Elk River is in southwestern Oregon. Approximately 25 miles (40 km) long, the river drains a remote area of the Coastal Range into the Pacific Ocean. On October 28, 1988, the Elk River was designated Wild and Scenic. It has two classifications: The 17-mile segment from the confluence of the North and South Fork of the Elk River to Anvil Creek is classified "recreational." The 2-mile segment of the North Fork Elk River from the falls to its confluence with the South Fork Elk River is classified "wild."

Sixes River Fishing: The Sixes River gets a very strong run of Native Winter Steelhead along with fall Chinook Salmon. The Sixes River is about 5 miles North of Port Orford, Oregon and is near the Elk River. The Sixes River is approximately 30 miles long and has a similar run of fish to the Elk River. Sixes River Salmon Fishing begins after the first fall rains blow out the sand bars that build up during the summer months releasing the river waters to the ocean once again. Popular fishing methods for the Sixes River are trolling Kwikfish and bait divers. You can watch one of my guided videos on the Illinois and Sixes Rivers HERE!

Chetco River Fishing: The Chetco River gets some very large Salmon and Steelhead! Every year Steelhead over 20 lbs are caught and many in the mid to upper teens are landed frequently. Salmon fishing is very good on the Chetco and sidedrifting is a popular technique because of its long perfect runs. The Chetco River is a river in southwestern Oregon in the United States, approximately 55 miles (88 km) long. In 1988 the United States Congress designated the upper 45 miles of the river from its headwaters to the boundary of Siskiyou National Forest as the Chetco Wild and Scenic River - part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers program.

Illinois River Fishing: The Illinois River gets a strong run of native winter steelhead and is a favorite among fly fisherman! The Illinois River is one of the two main tributaries of the Rogue River, approximately 75 miles long, in southwestern Oregon.
